I am a native North Carolinian and 25+ year Greensboro resident who enjoys the beach, the mountains, and ACC basketball. Annie, a lab-mix, was adopted by my son and me in 2006. I have an MS/Ed.S in Community/Marriage & Family Counseling from UNCG (2001) and a BA from Queens University in Charlotte. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #4270) since 2003 and was certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC) in 2002. I work with individuals (adults and teens) and families. My experience and emphasis are in the following: depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, women’s issues, parenting concerns, life changes, and grief and loss. In your first sessions, we will complete an assessment and establish goals for our work together. Counseling is often hard emotional work, strong feelings may arise. I pledge to work with you through this time of change and development. I use a person-centered approach and integrate cognitive-behavioral, reality, and family systems theories into my work. It is my firm belief that people are often stronger than they believe themselves to be and have within them the capacity heal. I am here to help you tap into that strength.
